Tattooing
Tattooing in ancient china is not all for 'good looks' but was used as a punishment in the legalism system.slaves would be tattooed on the face of fore head as a result of breaking the law and was also used for identification that they were indeed a slave.
Cutting of the nose
This horrible punishment was also a result of breaking the law and was extremely painful.it would have been performed in some cases publicly at the town square or markets and was not a pretty site.
Amputation
Another form of punishment was amputation of the arms or legs. this would have been done slowly to ensure that it was a slow and painful experience with maximum pain being felt in a very cruel and violent way.there is also a theory that knee caps where Taken out of the victims knees causing them to hardly be able to walk at all.
Castration
castration is a punishment that only applies to men. it is a punishment where the mans testicles is surgically or chemically chopped off. me being of male sex would find this extremely painful and not pretty. one could only imagine the pain that would be felt.
Death
In a lot of cases the death penalty was in action. there where many different methods of killing a slave but one of the most common would have to be lopping of the head while the victim is bent over on hands and knees.
As you can see the punishment where not very pleasant and where most definitely painful. there where other forms of punishments like whipping, starvation and beating but the ones listed above are the main punishment used on slaves in the time of Ancient China.
